Equal to a Mainframe
The advance of technology is astonishing

A current project involves an ATSAM4S 32-bit microcontroller. After so many development efforts based on 8-bit AVR's, a component with a megabyte of program space, 32 bits, and floating-point instructions, working an ARM-based product feels like programming a mainframe. Indeed one of these thumbnail-sized chips, though more limited in ultimate memory space, has a much faster CPU clock, and is in the same league as the only mainframe I ever programmed: an IBM-370. A single human generation can change so much!
